Children and their spiritual growth are one of Faith Lutheran's many passions....we actively honor the promises we make to young children and families during baptism. Covid-19 changed the way we minister to children, but, in many ways, these innovations have made our programming for young children more accessible and flexible. Check out Tiny Church and other innovative ways we connect with families on the Home Page.
Faith offers programs on Sunday morning and during the week to meet the needs of young children ages Birth to 5 (not yet in Kindergarten). Check Faithfully Yours or the most recent Bulletin Announcements for details and meeting times.
Sunday School begins during the 3 year old year... Children should be 3 years old by September 1 of the current year. Children reaching age 3 during the typical school year may continue to enjoy the Nursery until the next Sunday School Rally Day when they are 3 years old.
Nursery Care is offered for infants and toddlers during all Sunday morning worship services, midweek services and many special events, such as Divorce Care and Financial Peace University. The Nursery is a fun, playful place staffed with a paid, background checked staff member and an adult volunteer. All Nursery Staff comply with Faith Lutheran Church's Child Safety Policy.
Vacation Bible School- 4 and 5 year olds may attend our yearly Vacation Bible School unaccompanied by an adult. Younger children (3's) may attend if accompanied by and assisted by a parent or responsible adult.
Preschool- We have a Christ centered, nature focused, developmentally appropriate and comprehensive preschool, Faith Lutheran Programs for Young Children (PYC) which serves children ages 3 and up in traditional preschool classes with Enrichment option. Toddlers and parents may choose to attend Playgroups, a structured play based program facilitated by an early childhood specialist. Toddler Time, a parents' day out program, is offered on Wednesday mornings from 9:00 a.m.until noon for Toddlers ages 18 months and up without a parent in attendance. Visit www.faithpyc.com to view the external preschool web page.
BabyTALK O'Fallon- Faith Lutheran PYC sponsors the only BabyTALK home visiting program in our local community. Trained home educators visit children and parents monthly in their homes to provide developmental information, support and activities. This is a community outreach program, funded through individual gifts, fundraising activities and a very small yearly donation from families who are financially able to support the home visits. Visits can begin the minute a family finds they are expecting their first child and continue until the child turns 3. Because we are privately funded, families are not required to reside in the O'Fallon School District. Contact the preschool office at pyc@faithpyc.com or 632-3618, for enrollment information.
