We strive to be passionate about doing God’s will (“thy will be done”) in our programming, ministries, and activities. This includes serving our neighbor (especially by showing compassion to those in need,) witnessing to Christ by reaching out to our neighbor, showing hospitality to all, and working for peace and justice in the world. We take seriously both the Great Commandment and the Great Commission:
Mark 12:28-31 One of the scribes came near and heard them disputing with one another, and seeing that he answered them well, he asked him, “Which commandment is the first of all?” Jesus answered, “The first is, ‘Hear, O Israel: the Lord our God, the Lord is one; you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ The second is this, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”
Matthew 28:18-20 And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
