Working for Christ in the Community
The Outward Ministry Board shares the Gospel through service and support to our local and global community. We support many organizations and agencies with our prayers and financial gifts, making decisions as to how to distribute Local Benevolence funds given by the congregation so that we effectively care for others and share Christ's love.
Some of these include Faith's Love Fund, CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates), Habitat for Humanity, the O’Fallon Community Food Pantry, the Central/Southern IL Synod of ELCA, Unity Lutheran Christian Elementary School in East St. Louis, Programs for Young Children (Faith Lutheran's preschool), our home based parent support program, PYC BabyTALK and many others. When possible, we sponsor food packing events for the NiCE Foundation to support school feeding programs in Nicaragua.
Outward Ministry uses our website to “get the word out” to the community about who we are and what we do here at Faith. During the COVID pandemic, we ramped up our web presence to include worship livestreams to Facebook and YouTube so that everyone can participate in the community of Faith Lutheran. The Host/Hostess and Welcome Center , DivorceCare, Financial Peace University, GriefShare, and other outwardly focused programs draw folks to Christ through Faith Lutheran.
If you have a passion for service or a strength at website development, contact Maureen Sauer or Becky Ahlvin to serve with the Outward Ministry Board.
